Will a post hole digger work on the JD2210?
What size rear blade or york rake works with the 2210?
When do you need to add back ballast to the 2210 w/ a loader?
Thanks
Todd

Most CUT's will operate a PHA. It's mostly a ground-clearance issue. The 3ph has to lift high enough to raise the auger tip a ways off the ground. Most do, and most PHA's are adjustable.
I don't know the tractor but it's common to get implements that just cover the rear tire tracks. Usually longer blades are used to allow the to angle and still cover the tracks.
Generally some rear ballast (tire fill, 3ph weight or both) is a good idea for any loader work. How much is needed is a matter of experience and learning when things feel right. However, it's good to provide a safety margin. A tractor gets less stable on a slope if the bucket is raised. Hitting a bump can finish putting a nose heavy tractor on its nose. ....

Deere owners manuals are very specific when it comes to the topic of rear ballast. There will be no doubt about the correct ballast after you read it.
You can get a good idea of what sort of implements the 2210 can handle by going to the web site and clicking on the recommended attachments for that model. ....

I wasn't going to get a ballast box until I tried to move a dump truck load of gravel. I have a 4 ft frontier blade and that wasn’t enough counter weight. The front felt like it was heavy and the tractor was a little unstable on uneven ground. It’s not a good feeling when you get a tire off terra firma. The guy at the dealership said it could also help when I mow on steep terrain. If you are not moving anything that heavy you should be alright. ....

I forgot that JD does publish ballast requirements and following them makes for relatively safe conservative operations. It doesn't make a tractor bombproof though--not that anybody here is suggesting it does. I think wheel weight is better than 3ph weight at lowering CG, which is better at improving general stability--especially on side slopes.
Ultimately there isn't any substitute for experience and manufacturer procedures should keep people relatively safe until their judgments are more educated. I wish I had some 'requirements' in a manual when I first got my tractor because I was definitely nose heavy at times till I got better sense of the tractor. For myself, I get by without a ballast box and rely on an oversized box scraper. If I had doubts about stability I could strap sandbags on the scraper. Not a recommendation but I'm inclined to go that way because I tend to use both the scraper and the loader in much of the landscaping work I do. ....

Vassar Farm Equipment makes a PHD for sub-compacts, as well. It's a little pricy and has a digging depth of only 32". It can turn a bigger auger, though. They sell a full line of "estate" size Cat 1/0 implements. Here's a link" ....
